Microsoft PowerPoint: How to Use the Screen Recording Feature

You can record your computer screen and related audio with the Screen Recording feature, and then embed it in your slide or you can save it as a separate file.

This knowledge article demonstrates how to use the Screen Recording feature in Microsoft PowerPoint.


Step 1

On the Insert ribbon, click Media and choose Screen Recording.

Step 2

Deselect Audio if you're not recording audio. Select the area of your screen you wish to record then click Record. A red-dotted outline is displayed around the screen recording area.

PowerPoint will give you a countdown before recording begins.

Step 3

Record your steps. When finished, press the Windows logo key+Shift+Q to stop recording. Your screen recording will be inserted on the current slide.
