When you receive a meeting request, you can choose to accept, tentatively accept or decline the meeting request. Also, you can propose a new time. For more information on how to propose a new time, refer to the knowledge article entitled How to Propose and Accept a New Time for a Meeting.
This knowledge article demonstrates how to respond to a meeting request.
Step 1
Open the meeting request, and click one of the options in the Respond group on the ribbon.

Step 2
To accept a meeting request, click Accept and choose an option.

OR
To tentatively accept a meeting request, click Tentative and choose an option.

OR
To decline a meeting request, click Decline and choose an option.

Note: If you choose Send the Response Now, your response is sent immediately. However, if you choose Edit the Response before Sending, you're able to type a message.
Step 3
For this example, the Decline/Edit the Response before Sending option was selected. Note: Your response will be indicated by the Information icon and in the Subject line. Type your message then click Send.
