Microsoft Outlook: How to Mark a Meeting Attendee as Optional

When scheduling a meeting in Microsoft Office 2016, you can choose whether an attendee is required or optional.  This knowledge article demonstrates how to mark a meeting attendee as optional.

Step 1

From your Calendar, click New Meeting on the Home ribbon.

Step 2

Click Scheduling Assistant on the Ribbon.

Step 3

Click the icon next to the individual’s name and select Optional Attendee.
