askPGCC: How to Review and Publish a Knowledge Article

This knowledge article addresses how to review a pending knowledge article in askPGCC.  Those with Manager or higher permissions in askPGCC can review pending knowledge article.


Step 1

Sign in to askPGCC with your Single Sign on username and password, then select the Knowledge Base tab.

Select Articles Pending Review from the menu bar.

Step 3

Select the pending article.

Step 4

Review the article:

  1. Ensure accuracy and quality by reading through the article and the screen captures (ensure that the images are clear and zone in on what is being demonstrated).
  2. Select the Edit Article button.

  3. Make sure Tags are accurate.
    • In the Tags box, enter the tags that users will employ to find the article. You want to create (or select, if the tag is already created) a tag for the name of the application.  The first tag should identify the principal action or procedure your article outlines (for example, “encrypting”). You should provide variants of the verb to make the search function more optimally (for example, “encrypt,” “encryption,” and so on). Try to avoid tags that are too general. For example, “document” is probably too vague to be useful in a search.
  4. Select the Settings link.

  5. Change the Status to Approved if you wish to approve the article.
    1. Choose Not Submitted and inform the technician of further changes if there are further changes.
    2. NOTE: If there is no longer a need for the article, you should delete the article as opposed to Archiving it.  If it is an article that you may use some of the info from at a later time, please Archive the article by selecting Archive.
  6. Select the Published to KB check box, which will be active if you set the article to Approved.
  7. Ensure the Next Review Date is set to one year from the current date (if this is an Approved article).
  8. Change the Owner to your name as the Manager (once the article’s status is set to Approved).
  9. Select Notify Owner on Feedback, which will allow you to be notified when someone leaves feedback on the article.
  10. Select Save once you are done. 

12. Select the Related Articles link then begin to type the name of the related article (article names will begin to populate and you can pick one from the list then click Add.
