Microsoft Excel Overview

Description

Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program included in Microsoft 365. It can organize data, make calculations, visualize information, and automate calculations. Faculty/staff use it for budgeting and data analysis. It allows users to organize, format, and calculate data within a spreadsheet, using formulas and functions. It's widely used in various fields, including business, finance, and accounting, for tasks like data entry, management, analysis, and creating charts. 

When to Use: Microsoft Excel is best used for tasks involving numerical data, calculations, and data analysis. It excels at organizing data in rows and columns, performing complex calculations, creating charts and graphs, and automating repetitive tasks through macros. Excel is widely used in business, finance, accounting, and other fields where data manipulation and analysis are crucial.

How to Access Microsoft Excel?

  1. Navigate to https://www.pgcc.edu/     
  2. Click "myPGCC" then select "Faculty and Staff"  
  3. Click on the "App Launcher" (Waffle Icon) on the top left-hand corner of the site to access Excel
    (NOTE:  If the app icon is not listed, Click "More apps" icon then on "All Apps" link to find the appropriate application)
