Simple Syllabus is an electronic syllabus solution that enables us to populate most of a syllabus with official information entered into Colleague (Owl link) and/or by Curriculog and the Catalog, allowing faculty easy access for guided customization and quickly update their syllabus with the updated syllabus template each semester. Faculty will no longer need to re-enter redundant information into a syllabus that exists in other places and also ensure that the most accurate information is communicated to our students. The solution also enables us to make timely updates to compliance-oriented language in syllabi with little effort and/or to simply direct students to the official content in the electronic catalog.
Access Simple Syllabus
Faculty should access Simple Syllabus directly in Canvas using the Simple Syllabus icon in their course menu as shown below.

Note:
- If you do not see Course Syllabus in the left-hand course navigation links, then you can add it through the Course Navigation tab in Course Settings. Review the following guide for more instructions: How Do I Manage My Course Navigation Links?

Other resources you may find valuable include Watch, a video library where you can find helpful tutorials. The videos for instructors and students will be most helpful to you (as opposed to the videos for system administrators such as the first 4).
Support
Placing tickets directly with Simple Syllabus is the best (and fastest!) way to get assistance. They provide support within 1 to 2 hours Monday through Friday 8am-5PM EST. Requests submitted on evenings/weekends are attended to first thing the next working morning. You can reach out to support in the following ways:
- Using the insite help form (accessed by clicking the question mark icon in the lower left corner when logged into your Simple Syllabus site) in your Canvas Course
- Emailing your question to help@simplesyllabus.com. Feel free to copy eLearning@pgcc.edu on your request.
Simple Syllabus also provides drop-in meeting support throughout the work week (Monday through Friday). To attend office hours faculty must create an account with Simple Academy. Here are the directions:
- Go to Homepage | Simple Academy
- Click Sign in > Sign Up
- Log in.
- Go go Simple Community > Virtual Office Hours > Office Hours available to Clients.
If you already have an account, you can also click the links below to be taken to the virtual meeting space. Attendees will be admitted one at a time from the waiting room for privacy purposes. No registration required:
