Note:  You must be in the course you wish to copy into (destination) for this process.  In the case of Summer 2023 courses, you want to be in the Summer 2023 course site and know the name of the course you want to import from.

  1. On the course “Home” page of the course you wish to copy into, choose “Import Existing Content”.

  1. On the Import Content page, select “Copy a Canvas Course” as the content type [1], type the name of the course you wish to import content from in the search box [2], choose “Select specific content” [3], and mark the “Adjust events and due dates” checkbox to select “Remove dates” [4]. Click the “Import” button to proceed [5].

  1. You will see your import listed under the "Current Jobs" area of the Import Content Page. To choose which parts of your source course will be copied, click the "Select Content" button to the far right of the job.

  1. In the "Select Content" pop-up box that appears, mark all checkboxes except for “Syllabus Body” and “Announcements”[1]. Then click on the arrow to the left of Modules to expand the group [2] and uncheck “Teachers Module | Do Not Publish”, “Canvas Start Here”, and if present, “Syllabus & Schedule” [3]. Click the "Select Content" button to proceed [4].

The process will begin and your selected course materials will be imported. Depending on how large the content is, this process may take several minutes to complete. You can view the progress under the "Current Jobs" section of the Import Content page.
