Known Issue: Zoom - User Cannot Edit Display Name

Cause/Explanation

Editing your display name in Zoom through the profile settings is not available on PGCC's Zoom account. This field is automatically populated through PGCC's SSO. Changing your display name can be done on a per-meeting basis.

Note: In some cases, the meeting or webinar host may choose to disable the ability for participants to rename themselves, making this option unavailable.

Resolution

Method 1

  1. Enter the Zoom meeting or webinar. 
     
  2. Once in the meeting, click on the "Participants" () control at the bottom of the screen.

     
  3. A Participant panel will display. Click on your name from the participant list. A "More" button will become available. Select "Rename"
  4. Enter your name as you want it to display. This will change your display name for the meeting. Use this option to enter your name-in-use, pronouns, and other designations.

Method 2

  1. You can also access this option by right-clicking on your display name and selecting "Rename". Next, complete step 4 listed above under Method 1.
