Students have the option of installing the latest version of Microsoft Office 365, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and several other applications, on their home computer free of charge .

This knowledge article contains instructions for downloading and installing Office 365 which is available for students for their personal use.

To Download Office 365

Step 1

Navigate to https://www.office.com.

Step 2

Click Sign In

Step 3

Sign in with your PGCC e-mail account when prompted then click Next. (Include @students.pgcc.edu after your Owl Link username)

Step 4

Enter your PGCC e-mail password when prompted then click Sign in. (Please note that your PGCC e-mail password is typically different than your Owl Link password)

Step 5

If prompted with Multi-Factor Authentication, select the MFA option (if available) of your choice.

Step 6

If you were prompted with MFA, then complete the MFA process by providing the requested information.

Step 7

Click the option Yes or No to choose to stay signed in or not.

If prompted for more information, follow the additional prompts:

If prompted for more information then confirm your information then click Ok 

Step 10

If you are prompted with a Copilot everywhere screen, click the X in the top right corner of that prompt.

Step 11

On the left side of the screen, click on Apps.

Step 12

On the right side of the screen, click the drop down arrow for Install apps and then click Microsoft 365 Apps

Click Install Office

Step 14

If prompted to save the OfficeSetup.exe file, save it on your computer.

To Install Office 365

Step 1

Click the download icon on your browser, then left click the OfficeSetup.exe file that was downloaded. (Or navigate to the saved location of the OfficeSetup.exe file and run it)

Step 2

Click Run for the Open File - Security Warning.

Step 3

Follow the installation prompts to install Office 365. The installation process may take 20 to 40+ minutes.
