Copyleaks, our plagiarism checker tool, now has the option for instructors to "Submit files" or "Submit text" directly (as opposed to automatically through the assignment feature or uploading a file of student work). The direct submit feature makes it easy to check discussion board posts or essay questions on quizzes and tests.
To access Copyleaks, click on "Plagiarism Checker" from the Course Navigation menu:
1. To Submit files directly in CopyLeaks,
Click the "Submit files" tab then click "UPLOAD FILES"
A window will appear in order to locate/select the file to upload.
Click Open to upload the file.
Notice the file has been uploaded.
Click "Scan File". It will start immediately.
2. To Submit text directly in CopyLeaks,
Click the "Submit text" tab
Paste the student's text (Enter text here)
Click "Scan Text". It will start immediately.
Image (below) shows scan is in progress.
Once the scan is complete and the report is ready, it can be viewed by clicking on the percentage score.
This is an example of the report.
Note: When using this direct submit feature, be aware that in between processing of uploading files, if this page remains idle for more than 15 minutes, the subsequent submission will report an error because CopyLeaks timed out. However, the error message does not report a time out, instead this message appears, "Failed to upload the file due to network problems".
See below:
To resolve this issue, simply refresh the page and resume the direct submit.
