Acalog Training Plan

This plan equips Prince George's Community College (PGCC) staff with the training and resources needed to effectively create, manage, and maintain the college’s academic catalog using the Acalog catalog management system.

Goals

Staff will have access to structured training and resources for managing academic catalog content within Acalog.

Staff will have access to both guided training and self-paced learning resources.

Staff will gain the knowledge necessary to manage catalog information that is accurate, compliant, and accessible to students and institutional stakeholders.

Staff will understand the role of the academic catalog as an official institutional document that supports academic governance and compliance.


Objectives

Staff will be able to:

  • Identify the purpose and role of Acalog in managing the academic catalog.
  • Navigate the Acalog interface including the dashboard, menus, and editing tools.
  • Create, edit, and manage catalog content such as courses, programs, and academic policies.
  • Understand user roles and permissions within the catalog system.
  • Use templates and version control features when updating catalog content.
  • Follow catalog workflow and approval processes when submitting changes.
  • Publish catalog updates and manage version history.
  • Understand system integrations with systems such as PeopleSoft (KSIS) and Curriculog.
  • Apply best practices for accessible and user‑friendly catalog content.
  • Recognize the legal and compliance implications of catalog publishing.
