Viewing Ally Course Accessibility Report from Canvas

NOTE:  Please log into Canvas LMS, then access your desired course before proceeding with the below directions.

  • On the Course Home Page, click on the Ally Course Accessibility Report tab in the left-side Navigation Bar.   Ally Course Accessibility Report tab within a Canvas Course                                

 

  • The Ally Course Accessibility Report will open and display the course score. The goal is 90% or above. To fix issues, click on the Start button.​​​​​Start Button of the Ally Course Accessibility Report

 

  • Scroll down to see the issues and click on the title.

  • If it’s an image that needs an Alt tag, you’ll see something like this.

  • You can add a description, click the auto generate description, or mark the image as decorative.

  • If you chose to auto-generate a description, read it to make sure it is accurate.

  • The score for the document will then be updated.

  • If you chose to update a word document, simply click on the title and Ally will state the issue. Below you can see that the document does not have appropriate Headings.Sample Word document

 

  • Download document

  • You need to Edit the document and re-upload it.  If you are not sure what to do, click the button that says “how to add headings” to learn what to do.Sample error "This document does not have headings"

 

  • If you chose to update a PowerPoint presentation, simply click on the title and Ally will state the issue.

  • You need to Edit the PowerPoint slides and re-upload them.
