Description 
Owl Careers is the virtual career center and job board for Prince George's Community College (PGCC). It serves as a platform where students and alumni can view and apply for jobs and internship opportunities. Faculty will log into Owl Careers to recommend job and internship opportunities, review and approve students' experiential learning placements, manage student career plans through Pathways, and serve as liaisons to career services by providing expertise and support in career readiness for their students.
When to Use: 
You should use Owl Careers when you are looking for job and/or internship opportunities, whether you are a current student or an alumnus. Faculty sponsors will login to give internship approval and to engage with student interns and worksite supervisors of student interns.
Here are specific scenarios when Owl Careers would be beneficial:
	- Searching for Jobs/Internships: To find part-time or full-time job openings and internship positions relevant to your field of study or career interests.
- Career Development: To access resources related to resume writing, interview preparation, and career counseling.
- Networking Opportunities: To connect with employers and learn about job fairs, workshops, and other networking events.
- Resume Posting: To upload your resume for employers to view, increasing your chances of being contacted for job opportunities.
- Career Events: To stay informed about career-related events organized by PGCC, such as job fairs or employer information sessions.

Training Delivery Method(s) 
	- On-Demand - There are training opportunities for students available in Owl Careers. The platform provides access to various career development resources, including job readiness training and internship programs.
	
		- Job Readiness Training: This program is designed for youth and young adults aged 14 to 24, preparing them for entering the workforce. It includes foundational courses focused on ethics and performance-based curricula to develop essential soft skills.
- Internship Programs: PGCC offers credit-based internships that combine on-the-job training with students' academic programs. These internships help students gain practical experience and can earn them academic credits.

Who Has Access? 
	- Students: Active PGCC students can log in using their PGCC username and password to view and apply for posted positions.
- Alumni: Graduates of PGCC can also access Owl Careers to find job opportunities.
- Employers: Employers must have an approved and activated Owl Careers account to post job opportunities and recruit PGCC students and alumni.
- Faculty/Chairs: Faculty/Chairs will login to Owl Careers to approve a student’s Experiential Learning Placement.  The Faculty Guide to Internships with provide a step-by-step process for faculty sponsors to follow for internship approval and to engage with student interns and worksite supervisors of student interns.
NOTE:  To access Owl Careers, users must have an approved account, which requires activation and login.  You can access Owl Careers via the student and staff portals.  You must be an active student or an alumni, faculty member or an admin of Owl Careers.  Employers can also use Owl Careers to post job openings and review resumes of candidates.
How to Access Owl Careers?
	- Navigate to https://www.pgcc.edu/     
- Click "myPGCC" then select "Students" or “Faculty and Staff” depending on your role. 
- Then, students need to 
Scroll down under Shortcuts or Tools, then Student Resources and click on Owl Careers. 

Faculty need to scroll down to view “Employee Apps” and click on Owl Careers.
