Owl Link: How to Search for Course Availability Using Advanced Search (Credit)

There are multiple methods you can use to search for the course. You can search by keywords, subject or perform an advanced search using specific criteria. Use the Advanced Search feature to aid in searching for specific terms, schedules, locations, and/or days.

This knowledge article demonstrates how to search for courses using the Advanced Search feature.


Step 1

After logging into Owl Link and clicking Course Search under Academics.  

The Search for Courses and Course Sections screen appears. 

Step 2

Click the Term drop-down list and select your desired term, e.g. Spring 2021 Semester.

Scroll down and click Search.

The search results are displayed. To narrow down the results, apply additional filters such as Availability, Locations, etc.

Step 5

To view courses with Zero Cost Textbooks, select that check box under Course Types to apply the filter.

Step 6

Locate your desired course then click Add.

The Section Details dialog appears. Click Add Section.

A notification message appears at the top of rhe screen, the Add button is disabled, and the course displays as Planned.

Step 8

To return to the Course Search landing page, click the Back to Course Search link.

Note: After a course is planned, students must register. Please see the knowledge article "How to Plan, Schedule, Register for, and Drop Courses."  A student is not enrolled in a course until they have completed the registration process.
