Zoom Training Plan

Description

Zoom is a cloud-based video conferencing platform that enables online meetings, webinars, and live chat. Users join virtual meeting rooms with video, audio, and screen-sharing capabilities through a web interface or mobile apps. Employees access their college-issued Zoom account through the Employee Apps section of the myPGCC Portal.

Goals

  • Equip employees with the skills to host effective, engaging, and secure virtual meetings.
  • Promote consistent virtual meeting etiquette and best practices.
  • Support educators in leveraging Zoom for active, inclusive learning.

Objectives

By the end of training, participants will be able to:

  • Schedule and host meetings
  • Use Zoom tools (chat, breakouts, polls, screen sharing)
  • Record and manage meetings
  • Apply meeting etiquette and best practices
  • Understand and apply Zoom security settings

Advanced Applications

  • Integrate Zoom with other platforms (e.g., Outlook, Canvas)
  • Use Zoom for specialized purposes (webinars, training, large events)
  • Apply advanced features (registration, reporting, co-host management)

Educational/Pedagogical (For Educators)

  • Facilitate active learning in virtual classrooms
  • Create a safe, inclusive virtual classroom environment
  • Leverage Zoom for assessment
