The Windows 10 Start menu is slightly different from previous versions. You can either locate your app on the alphabetical list within the Start menu, or you can use Search to find your application.  This knowledge article demonstrates both methods.

Locating from Alphabetical List

Step 1

Open the Start menu by clicking the Windows icon on the toolbar.

Step 2

 Scroll through the alphabetical list of applications and click on your desired app. 

Searching 

You can also open Search on the taskbar, enter the application name in the text box, then select the application from the search results. For example, you would enter PowerPoint in the Search box and click on the "Desktop app" search result.
