Microsoft Word: How To Use the Tell Me What You Want To Do Feature

With the Tell Me What You Want To Do feature, you can quickly get to the features you want to use or actions you wish to perform by entering words or a phrase into the text field.  This functionality is available across the entire Microsoft Office 2016 suite.

This knowledge article demonstrates how to use the Tell Me What You Want To Do feature in Microsoft Word 2016.


Step 1

Click inside of the Tell Me What You Want To Do text field and your recently used features or actions will appear.

Type the feature or action you wish to perform.  For example, footnote.
