Description
An academic resource scheduling system that is used for booking classrooms, labs, conference rooms for meetings and events.
Goals
- Staff will have access to training and resources that enable effective use of AD Astra for scheduling and space management.
- Staff will understand how to navigate the AD Astra interface and manage reservations.
- Staff will learn how to schedule courses, meetings, and events while minimizing conflicts and optimizing campus space utilization.

Launchpad: Starting with AD Astra
This introductory session familiarizes users with the purpose, interface, and basic functions of AD Astra. Participants will learn how the system supports campus scheduling and how to navigate the platform to locate spaces and availability.
AD Astra Overview: Getting Started with Astra Schedule
This hands-on workshop introduces the core scheduling tools in AD Astra. Participants will learn how to search for available spaces, create reservations, and understand scheduling rules and workflows.
Self-Paced Modules
The Scheduler’s Toolkit
This training focuses on building user proficiency and efficiency when working in AD Astra.
Topics include:
- Scheduling courses, meetings, and events
- Managing reservations and space assignments
- Optimizing space utilization
- Minimizing scheduling conflicts
- Generating reports on room usage and scheduling activity
- Managing resources such as equipment and technology
Resources
- Ad Astra Knowledge Base – Articles and documentation covering system navigation, scheduling procedures, and troubleshooting.
- Ad Astra Training Videos – Short instructional videos demonstrating common tasks and best practices.
Reservation Guidelines
All use of space outside of assigned offices and scheduled class times must be reserved through the Center for Performing Arts & Events Management. Reservations should be submitted at least two weeks before the intended meeting or event. Requests made with less than two weeks’ notice may not be accommodated.
Some conference rooms may be reserved through Outlook; these rooms are provided as-is. If technology support is required, an askPGCC ticket should be submitted.
