Tutoring Task Assignment

Faculty can assign tutoring tasks for students to complete in Brainfuse if they feel tutoring may support the student’s academic success.

There are two types of tutoring tasks

  • Live Tutoring: Assign a student a live online tutoring session that focuses on a specific skill or subject

  • Writing Lab: Invite students to submit papers to the Brainfuse Writing lab for feedback

To learn how to assign tutoring tasks to students, reference the video on Brainfuse task assignment for PGCC faculty (13 minutes)

Note: If a student is assigned a tutoring task, they will receive an email like the one in the image below. The student will need to click the link in their email to take them to the task page in Brainfuse. On that page, they will see a button that allows them to submit their work. By using that link, the faculty will be able to follow their progress and see any work from the student or tutor.

Student Access – When not assigned a tutoring task by faculty

Brainfuse is available to all PGCC students through their Canvas courses. To learn how students access Brainfuse, reference the Brainfuse page on The Learning Commons’ website.

Please ensure the “Brainfuse Online Tutoring” link is visible to students on your course navigation menu in Canvas. Otherwise, students in your course will not have access to Brainfuse!
