With the Student Planning module in Owl Link, you can search for courses, plan your terms, and schedule and register your course sections. You can view your plan in a calendar format as well as choose options to view your progress.
This knowledge article demonstrates how to search for courses, plan your terms, and schedule and register for your planned courses.
Step 1
After logging into Owl Link, click Student Planning on the Home page.
Step 2
The Planning Overview page displays. In the Search for courses by keywords field, type the course for which you wish to search, e.g. INT-1010 and then press Enter. Note: It’s important to enter the courses without any spaces or hyphens/dashes. Also, you can search for multiple courses by separating them with spaces.
Step 3
The search results display. Click the Add Course to Plan button. Note: Adding a course to the plan gives you the flexibility of moving it to a future term if necessary.
Step 4
The Course Details dialog appears. Notice this course has a prerequisite. This requirement must be met before you can register for this course. Select your desired term then click Add Course to Plan.
Step 5
After adding all of your courses to your plan, click the Back to Planning Overview link.
Step 6
From the Planning Overview page, click Go to Plan & Schedule.
Step 7
The Plan & Schedule page displays. Click the Show the next term button.
Step 8
Click the View other sections down arrow to display the sections.
Step 9
Locate your desired section and then click it.
Step 10
The Section Details dialog displays. Review the details then click Add Section.
A successful notification message displays and the section is added to your schedule.
Step 11
The course now appears as Planned. Click Register to register courses individually. Note: To register all courses for a specific term, click Register Now.
Step 12
The course now appears as Registered, but not started. To drop this course, click Drop.
Step 13
The Register and Drop Section dialog appears. Select the section(s) you wish to drop then click Update. Note: You can drop multiple courses as well as add a section at the same time.
The course has been dropped, but still appears as Planned.
