New Blackboard Login Procedures

This knowledge article explains the steps to login to Blackboard once Identity Access Management (PortalGuard) has been implemented.  This is scheduled for February 12th, 2022.

If you are receiving the Invalid Username or Password message when trying to login to Blackboard, and you are a PGCC faculty, staff or student, please note that as of February 12, 2022, you now need to login to MyPGCC before accessing Blackboard.  If you went straight to the Blackboard login page ( and were unable to login, the reason is most likely because you entered your username and password into the wrong login box.  When accessing Blackboard directly, select the Sign in with third-party account box, then select myPGCC Login.  After entering your username and password, you will return to Blackboard.

You must scroll down past this image in Blackboard to access the login screen.

The first time you log into the MyPGCC portal page, you will be asked to give a phone number or email address that will be used if you forget your password and need to reset it in the future.  You should have received instructions through email for this process.  Click here to return to the Blackboard login page.

With this update, myPGCC will become your central location to access most of your applications, including Owl Link, Blackboard, and your email. You will have less passwords to remember and you can reset your password without having to contact the Service Desk.  It is recommended that instead of going directly to the Blackboard login page at, that you first log into MyPGCC at or by going to the PGCC website at and selecting MyPGCC.  Once you login to the portal, you will be able to access your other applications without having to login again.

If you are an HCC student. Non-PGCC faculty or using a manually created account, such as a dean, chair or coordinator account, enter your username and password on the Blackboard login page at  Login by entering your username and password in the appropriate boxes and select Login.
