Blackboard (Faculty): How to Copy a Test from One Blackboard Course to Another

As the instructor of a Blackboard course, you can copy a Test from one course to another without copying the entire course site.

This knowledge article will provide the steps in copying a test from one course to another by exporting a zip file and then importing the zip file. 

Note:  You must have Instructor access to both courses in order to copy materials between courses. 


Export Test (from the Originating Course)

Step 1

Open the Blackboard Course site that contains the Test you want to copy.



Step 2

Go to the Control Panel and click on Tests, Surveys, and Pools (Under Course Tools).



Step 3

Click on Tests



Step 4

Find the Test and click on the arrow next to it to access the Contextual Menu then, click on Export to Local Computer.


Step 5

Click on Save File to save the Exported zip file to your computer then, click OK.

Note: Make sure you know the name of the Exported zip file and where it is located on your computer.


Import Test (in the Destination Course)

Step 6

Open the Blackboard Course site that you want to copy the Test into.


Step 7

Go to the Control Panel and click Tests, Surveys, and Pools (Under Course Tools).


Step 8

Click on Tests


Step 9

Click on Import Test


Step 10

Click on Browse My Computer to find the Test you saved (zip file) on your computer.


 

Step 11

Locate and select the Test that you saved (zip file) on your computer then, click Open.


 

Step 12

The file has been selected then, click Submit to import the file.


Step 13

You will receive a Test Import Complete page, click OK.


 

Step 14

The Test will show that it has been copied.


Step 15

Deploy the Test in your course.
